About OSS and NIB

Jun · Dec 21, 2019 · updated Nov 2026

OSS stands for Online Single Submission, Indonesia’s integrated online licensing system.

It was introduced by Government Regulation No. 24 of 2018 and is now based on Government Regulation No. 28 of 2025 (risk-based business licensing). New companies obtain their licenses through the system, and existing companies must also register in it.

OSS integrates and simplifies licenses that used to be issued by separate agencies, so investors can obtain business licenses quickly and easily. License records are also kept in the OSS account.

NIB stands for Nomor Induk Berusaha, the business identification number issued through OSS. The NIB also serves as the former company registration certificate (TDP), import license (API) and customs registration. Companies with earlier licenses are also required to obtain an NIB through OSS.
